Title IX Process

Overview of the processes used to address Formal Complaints of Sexual Harassment.

Process for Title IX Sexual Harassment Complaints

Under Title IX, to initiate a grievance process, the alleged conduct must occur within Emory’s programs and/or activities, must be against a person within the United States, and must fall within the definition of Title IX Misconduct as outlined under Title IX and this policy. If the above criteria are met, the University will move forward with this process.

Process for Non-Title IX Sexual Harassment Complaints

If the alleged conduct does not occur within Emory’s programs and/or activities, did not occur against a person within the United States, and/or does not fall within the definition of Title IX Misconduct as outlined under Title IX and this policy, the University will use this process to address the allegations.
