Maurice serves as Vice Provost for Institutional Equity and Compliance at Emory University, where he provides strategic leadership for the university’s civil rights compliance, institutional equity, and policy initiatives. He leads efforts to foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and inclusive excellence while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws and university policies.

In his role, Maurice oversees the offices responsible for Equal Opportunity, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), ADA compliance, and Title IX compliance and education for faculty and staff. He partners closely with university leadership, the Office of General Counsel, and campus stakeholders to develop and implement policies, strengthen institutional practices, and address complex compliance matters. His leadership supports equitable processes, risk mitigation, and a respectful learning and working environment for the Emory community.

Maurice brings extensive experience in higher education and healthcare, with expertise spanning institutional equity, civil rights compliance, Human Resources, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), ADA, Titles VI and VII, Title IX, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for building collaborative partnerships, leading organizational change, and aligning compliance strategies with institutional mission and values.

As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, Maurice is committed to advancing policies and practices that promote fairness, transparency, and operational excellence while supporting Emory’s mission of education, research, patient care, and service.

Maurice earned a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science from Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL and a Juris Master from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, GA.
