Zahra Hemani

Zahra Hemani joined the Department of Equity and Inclusion with more than a decade of experience in Fair Housing/Title VIII civil rights enforcement and compliance.  Her abiding commitment to public service and equal justice was honed through a diverse career in the nonprofit and state government sectors advocating for underserved groups.  Zahra’s prior work includes many years in homeless legal services and international human rights law.  She is proficient in communicating with people from all walks of life in a wide variety of circumstances with dignity and respect. 

Zahra graduated with High Honors and two B.A. degrees from Emory University and attended New York University School of Law.  As a proud Emory alumna, she is dedicated to ensuring Emory’s commitment to civil rights and equal employment.
